Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026
He Made Her She is a deeply personal book. Many of our readers have carried their struggle quietly for a long time. We built our privacy practices around one promise: your journey is yours, and we will treat it that way.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It applies to the He Made Her She website, the ebook, the audiobook, the companion workbook, and the Elim Circle community.
1. Who we are
He Made Her She is published and operated by Osaro Igbinoba ("we", "us", "our"), based in Nigeria.
For any privacy question or request, email support@hemadehershe.com.
2. Our privacy promises, in plain words
- We never ask you to tell us what you're struggling with. You don't need to share your story to buy the book or join the community.
- We collect only what we need to deliver your purchase, protect our work and support you.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information. Not to advertisers, churches, ministries or anyone else.
- We keep things discreet. Our emails use neutral subject lines, and the charge shows on your bank statement as a ₦15,000 payment.
- We never contact your family, church, employer or anyone else about you.
3. What we collect
When you buy:
- Your name, email address and, if the checkout asks for it, your phone number
- Your order details (what you bought, when, and how much you paid)
Payments are processed by our checkout provider, Nestuge. We never see or store your card or bank details. Nestuge handles them under its own privacy policy.
When you download the audiobook or workbook:
- Basic download records, such as the date and time of each download, the number of downloads, and the IP address and device or browser type used. See Section 5.
When you join Elim Circle:
- To join, you email us (as explained at the end of the book). We use your email to confirm your purchase, and we ask for your WhatsApp number so we can add you.
- The name or display name you choose, and your phone number, which WhatsApp needs to add you to the group
- Anything you choose to post or share in the community
When you email us:
- Your message and email address, so we can reply
When you visit our website:
- Basic technical information (device type, browser, pages visited) collected through cookies and similar tools. See Section 8.
4. Information about your faith or personal life
Because of what this book is about, anything you share with us or in the community may reveal things about your faith, your thoughts or your personal life. Nigerian data protection law treats this as sensitive personal data and gives it extra protection. So do we.
- We do not collect this kind of information on purpose, and we never require it.
- If you choose to share it (in an email to us or in the community), we use it only to support you, and we never use it for advertising.
- We never pass it to advertising platforms, and we never use it to target ads at you.
5. Audiobook downloads and piracy protection
The audiobook is downloadable so you can listen privately, even offline. To protect the author's work from piracy, as explained in Section 4 of our Terms:
- We may link each audiobook download to your order. This lets us limit the number of downloads and spot unusual activity, such as one order being downloaded many times from many places.
- We may add invisible markers (watermarks) to the audiobook files that identify the order they came from. These markers do not track you, record what you listen to, or send any information back to us. They only matter if a copy of the file is found somewhere it shouldn't be.
- If a pirated copy is found, we may use the marker and download records to identify the order it came from, so we can contact the buyer, end access or take the steps described in our Terms. In serious cases we may share the relevant order details with our legal advisers, the platform hosting the copy, or the authorities.
- We never use download records for advertising, and we never use them to learn anything about your faith or personal life.
A privacy tip: once downloaded, the audiobook and workbook are stored on your device. If you share your phone or computer with others, you may want to keep them in a private or locked folder.
6. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Deliver your ebook, audiobook, workbook and community access
- Send you important messages about your purchase (access links, updates, support replies)
- Send occasional encouragement or updates if you've agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
- Process refund requests
- Keep the website and community safe, and prevent misuse, unauthorised sharing or piracy of the ebook, audiobook and workbook (see Section 5)
- Meet our legal and tax obligations
We rely on your consent, the need to deliver what you bought, and our legitimate interest in running a safe service and protecting our copyright.
7. The Elim Circle community
Elim Circle is a place for encouragement and accountability, and confidentiality is at its heart.
- You can use a first name or nickname. You don't have to use your full name or a photo.
- What's shared in the circle stays in the circle. Members agree not to screenshot, copy or repeat other members' posts outside the community. See our Terms.
- Please be thoughtful about what you share. We moderate the community and remove anyone who breaks confidentiality, but we can't fully control what other members do. Only share what you're comfortable with.
- The community runs on WhatsApp, and WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies.
- Please note: on WhatsApp, your phone number and profile name (and profile photo, depending on your settings) may be visible to other members. Before joining, you may want to set your WhatsApp profile name to a first name or nickname, and adjust your profile photo and "About" privacy settings (Settings → Privacy) to "My contacts" or "Nobody".
- You can leave the community at any time. Email us if you'd also like us to delete your contact details.
8. Cookies and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar tools, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the page and to measure whether our ads work.
- These tools may record that you visited the page or made a purchase.
- We never send Meta, Google or any other platform information about your faith, struggles or personal life.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
We also use Google Analytics to understand, in general terms, how visitors find and use our website (for example, which pages are visited and how long people stay). Google Analytics uses cookies and does not tell us who you are. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9. Who we share information with
We share information only with the services we need to run He Made Her She:
- Nestuge, for checkout, payment and delivery of the ebook, audiobook and workbook
- GetResponse, our email provider, to send your access details and updates
- WhatsApp, for the Elim Circle community
- Meta and Google (Google Analytics), for basic website and ad measurement (see Section 8)
We may also disclose information if Nigerian law requires it, if it's needed to stop piracy or misuse of our content as described in Section 5, or if we believe someone's life or safety is at serious and immediate risk.
We never share your information with your family, church, employer, school or anyone else.
10. Keeping your information safe
We use reputable providers, limit who can access your information, and keep only what we need. No system is perfectly secure, but we take your privacy seriously and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.
11. How long we keep it
- Order records: for up to 6 years, for tax and accounting purposes
- Download records: for as long as you have access to the audiobook and workbook, and up to 2 years afterwards, so we can deal with any piracy that comes to light
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
- Community details: while you're a member. We'll remove them when you leave or ask us to.
- Support emails: up to 2 years, then deleted
12. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete your information (except records we must keep by law, or need to keep to protect our copyright)
- Withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from emails
- Object to how we use your information
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
To make a request, email support@hemadehershe.com. We'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
13. Readers under 18
He Made Her She is written for readers aged 17 and over. If you're under 18, please read it, listen to it and join the community only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we've collected information from someone under 18 without that consent, we'll delete it.
14. If you need urgent help
He Made Her She and Elim Circle are faith-based personal growth resources. They are not emergency or crisis services, and they are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or someone you trust right away.
15. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top. If the changes significantly affect you, we'll also let you know by email.
